  • Polyester Strings

Solinco is an American company that is making waves in NCAA collegiate and also professional tennis. The Solinco strings I’ve chosen are pretty darn amazing for spin, tension maintenance and longevity. Yes, it lasts just a little longer than earlier generation polyesters (10-20 hours vs 1-4 hours) which, I think, makes it pretty special. Plus these particular strings only loose about 25% of tension (normally poly loses 40-60% of their tension) which is unheard of for polyesters. And their edges (4 or 6 sided) more than satisfy the need to spin the ball.

Tour Bite “SOFT” is probably a 4th or 5th generation poly. It plays similarly to the original tour bite (grips the ball and very low powered) but isn’t nearly as harsh on the arm. Don’t let the “SOFT” fool you. It’s still a polyester so it’s unforgiving on mishits and it much more suited for higher level players.
It is a square shaped poly so it has sharp edges to really grip and spin the ball and is still lower powered like the original Tour Bite. This performs well and it has the durability polyester is famous for.

For a softer, more comfortable feel, you can hybrid with natural or black PEEK in the crosses to give you a more gut-like comfort without losing ANY of the ability to spin the ball
