the OG polyester

  • Polyester Strings

Considered by many to be the crem da la crem of polyesters. I believe it was introduced in the early 2000s but it is still used by so many professionals to this day. I would consider ALU Power THE standard of top tier polyester tennis strings. So many people consider this to have the perfect amount of stiffness and power.

What’s the drawback? It also loses playability THE FASTEST. Average playability is around 1-4 hours (depending on how hard you hit the ball). Where the tension drops like 40-50% and you start to have absolutely no control of the ball. Which kind of explains why pros will change racquets every 7 games because they’ve hit the life out of these strings in only 7 games. Hey, that’s exactly how long it was engineered to last… The pros can also pay to restring their racquets every time they hit.

A full bed (in the mains and crosses) of ALU power is not for the faint of heart or tender of joints. However once that tendonitis sets in, they know the exact feeling of ALU power. It is a sweet drug that has left many tennis players in remission for life.

For a softer, more comfortable feel, you can hybrid with a black PEEK in the crosses to give you a more gut-like comfort without losing ANY of the ability to spin the ball.
